Richard Selva Obituary

Richard (Rick) P. Selva, 70, passed away at his home in Cheboygan, MI on Tuesday May 28, 2024. 

He was born on April 18, 1954 and grew up in Warren, MI.

Rick was a kind and generous man who was strong in his Christian faith and passionate about voting integrity and upholding the American constitution. As a young man, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and continued the majority of his career as an information technologist with Chrysler. He found his retirement paradise in Cheboygan, where he was an active teacher of tactical civics and organizer within the Cheboygan County Republican Party. Rick loved to read, explore, plan home renovations, and try new things such as welding and woodworking. 

He is greatly loved and missed by his daughter Kate (Wes) Sneek, son Ryan (Crystal) Selva, twin sister Marie Johnson, sister Joanna (Gary) Wiles, brother John (Betty) Selva, grandchildren (Keeley, Charlie, Amylia, Maisey, Margot, Mabel, Evelyn), in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends.

Rick is preceded in death by his wife Cindy, parents Richard and Frances, and sister Laura. 

There will be a celebration of life held at a later date. 

Those wishing to honor Rick’s memory are asked to consider supporting: Wounded Warrior Project, Tactical Civics, the Salvation Army, or the Topinabee Public Library.
